LOS ANGELES -- The No. 5 Trojans took care of business on Thursday afternoon at McAlister Field, dispatching of visiting Washington State 3-0.

"Great win. It was great to see so many different players contribute today," said head coach Keidane McAlpine. Sammy Jo [Prudhomme] was magnificent again. On a warm day, I thought our team found a way to win against a really good Cougar squad. As we close out the regular season, games like this are really important."

The Trojans (12-3, 6-1 Pac-12) had goals from Nicole Molen, Leah Pruitt, and Hailey Hite on the afternoon, while the Trojan defense earned its 10th shutout of the year.

In the 23rd minute, the Trojans got on the board, as Alex Anthony took a terrific shot from distance that was saved by Cougar goalkeeper Ella Dedrick, but the rebound off the save landed right at Molen's feet and she hammered it home for the eventual game-winner.

With the 1-0 score at the half, the Trojans outshot the Cougars by just one, 11 to 10 and the Cougars had three corner kicks to just one for the Trojans.

In the second half the Trojans brought even more energy, putting the team up 2-0 with a goal just three minutes and 45 seconds into the second half. Pruitt got a nice through ball from Anthony, juked the goalkeeper Dederick and put it away into the lower right corner for her third goal of the year.

Finally, in the 83rd minute, Hite got in on the scoring, as she took a cross from the right side from Katie Johnson and finished it near post inside the six-yard box for her first goal of the year. The finish put the game out of reach, 3-0 with seven minutes left in regulation.

Prudhomme made three saves, two in the first half and one in the second to record her individual ninth shutout victory.
