National Champion Women's Soccer Announces the Addition of Six Student-Athletes for 2017

    LOS ANGELES -- USC head women's soccer coach Kediane McAlpine and his staff announce a six-member 2017 recruiting class, joining the NCAA title winning program for the 2017 fall season.

    The class includes two midfielders, two forwards, one defender and one goalkeeper, coming to Troy from across the country. The class boasts two from California and one each from Colorado, Georgia, Illinois and Nevada. Two are current members of the U.S. Youth National Team U-20 squad.

    "I am very excited to officially add this high character and wonderfully talented group of women to our Trojan Soccer Family," explained fourth-year head coach Keidane McAlpine. "They will add a competitiveness and tough mentality as we strive to continue to build on our program's successes both in the classroom and on the field."

    Below are the bios of the six-member class in alphabetical order --

    Emily Cuthbert -- Goalkeeper -- LA Galaxy San Diego - Encinitas, Calif. /La Costa Canyon HS
    U.S. Youth Soccer National Championship Finalist in 2016...Won a National League Division Title in 2016 with Carlsbad Elite...Was named to Top Drawer Girls Players to Watch list during 2016 USYS National Championships...Helped lead team to the U.S. Youth Soccer National Title in 2015, was awarded the Golden Glove, given to the top goalkeeper in the tournament...Was Named to the Best XI team during the USYS National Championship...In 2015-16 was an ODP Winter Pool Player...Helped lead club to the 2015 National Cup Finals...Helped lead La Costa Canyon HS to the league title in 2015...Also competed in track, high jump and long jump.

    Jessica Haidet -- Defender -- NASA-Tophat Soccer Club -- Atlanta, Ga./Pace Academy
    Member of the U.S. Youth Soccer ODP Region III Team...Was the team captain of her ODP team in 2015...2015 ODP Holland Team, 2014 ODP Interregional Event...Invited to national training camp in 2014...2013 Interregional BOCA-ALT...Attended numerous U.S. Soccer National Training Centers...Team captain of club team from 2012-present...U17 team finished first ECNL season ranked ninth nationally, one of the top teams, least goals allowed in part due to the defense of Haidet...Through U-16 and U-15 rankings, team with the least goals allowed, U-14 team did not allow any goals...Led high school Pace Academy to Georgia High School State Champions...Earned All-Area honors, including her freshman season...Played in every game as a true freshman...Earned the Coaches' Rising Star Award as a freshman.



    Arlie Jones -- Midfielder -- San Diego Surf -- Las Vegas, Nev./Bishop Gorman HS
    Current member of the U-20 U.S. Youth National Team...Named Tournament MVP at 2016 International Cup in Belfast, Ireland with the U.S. Youth National Team U-18 squad....Helped lead team to the U.S. Club Soccer National Title in 2016...San Diego Surf College Cup title in 2015 and 2016...Was invited to the Nike id2 National Camp in 2015 and 2016...Member of State and Regional ODP Teams from 2010-2015... Helped lead club team to the 2015 ECNL championship title...Earned All-Southern Nevada Honors from 2013-2015, along with All-Sunset Region and All-Southwest League honors for Bishop Gorman HS...Was named the Best of Nevada Preps All-Star Team 2015-16...In the 2017 TDS IMG Top 150 ranking, sits at No. 23 nationally, No. 7 in Southern California.

    Natalie Laser -- Forward -- FC United -- Glencoe, Ill./New Trier HS
    A top goal scoring forward out of Illinois...Led club team FC United in goals scored from 2013-16...Led her U-17 team to the Illinois State Cup Championship in 2015, scoring the game-winning goal in the state semifinal and both goals in the state final...Leading goal scorer in the Regional Tournament in 2015-16...Scored five goals at 2016 USYSA Region II (Midwest) Championships to lead team to second place finish...Has participated in U.S. Soccer training camps...Earned All-State honors while leading New Trier HS to the state title in 2015-16...In 2014-15 was the MVP of the Illinois State playoffs...Tallied the game-winning goal in the Pepsi Showdown Final, was the Chicagoland MVP of the Pepsi Showdown Final...HS won the 2014-15 State championship, team was the number I high school team in the nation...As a freshman in 2013-14 earned All-Conference honors, state title.

    Tara McKeown -- Forward/Defender -- San Diego Surf -- Newbury Park, Calif./Newbury Park HS
    Current member of the U-20 U.S. Youth National Team, has also been a member of the U14, U15, U17, U18 teams...Ranked the No. 29 recruit in the class of 2017 by IMG National Academy, No. 8 recruit in Southern California and the No. 4 recruit in the position of defender...Member of Cal South ODP Pro and State teams in 2011, 2012 and 2013...While playing for Newbury Park HS, McKeown earned All-CIF Southern Section First Team honors in 2015-16 and 2013-14, All-Ventura County First Team in 2015-16, Marmonte League Most Offensive Player in the 2015-16, Newbury Park HS Most Valuable Player (2015-16)...Was named the Daily News Soccer Player of the Year in 2015-16...Helped lead team to the CIF Southern Section Division 2 semifinals for the first time in school history in 2015-16...Also competed in hurdles in track.

    Captain of the Colorado State ODP Team for the last five years...Two-time (2014 and 2015) Top 18 selection for the U.S. Youth ODP Championships...Helped lead Region IV 1999 to the US Youth Soccer ODP Girls Thanksgiving Interregional in 2013...Best XI All-Star Team for Region IV Championships...Helped club team Colorado Storm to four Colorado and ECNL Northwest Conference Mountain Division champions...Advanced to the ECNL National Playoffs every year as a top tier Champions League qualifier...ECNL National Championships in 2013...Selected to Colorado Springs Metro League All-Star Team.
