LOS ANGELES – Incoming freshman Arlie Jones was named today the 2016-17 Gatorade Nevada Girls Soccer Player of the Year.
Jones tallied 32 goals and 13 assists this past season, leading Bishop Gorman High School to a 21-3-1 record and the Class 4A Sunset Region Tournament semifinals. Jones was recently named a high school All-American by the NSCAA and participated in the High School All-American Game.
Also a member of the U.S. National Team Youth Soccer circuit, Jones missed five games of her high school season in October as she competed with the U.S. U-18 women’s national team in the Women’s International Cup in Ireland.
Jones joins current teammate, Sydney Sladek as Gatorade Nevada State Girls Soccer Player of the Year, as the rising senior earned the honor in 2013.
Jones is now a finalist for the prestigious Gatorade National Girls Soccer Player of the Year award, which will be announced later in June.
