Defending Women's Soccer National Champions Announce 2017 Schedule

    FULL 2017 SCHEDULE

    LOS ANGELES -- The reigning national champion USC women's soccer program announces its 2017 schedule, which begins on August 18 when the Trojans host UC Davis at 3 p.m. PT.

    "As with every year, we have a non-conference schedule that will challenge our team and prepare us for the difficulties we will face in Pac-12 play," said fourth-year head coach Keidane McAlpine. "I am very excited to see how this new mix of women are able to carry on the standards set by the 2016 national championship team."

    Prior to the season opener, the Trojans will compete in two preseason scrimmages against Big West foes, first when they host UC Irvine on Friday, August 11 at 2 p.m. PT and then they head to Long Beach State on Sunday, August 13 at 7 p.m. PT.

    12 of the 18 games on the 2017 schedule will be televised live on the Pac-12 Networks. The Trojans have a total of eight home games and 10 away contests. Seven of the Trojans' eight home games will be televised, with the final contest being live streamed.

    The Trojans have contests scheduled against eight opponents who made the 2016 NCAA Tournament, including Elite Eight competitor Santa Clara and Sweet 16 competitors UCLA and Utah.

    After opening up the schedule against UC Davis on August 18, where the Trojans will raise their 2016 NCAA title banner, the Trojans head out of the road, traveling to face 2016 NCAA Tournament competitors Missouri and Kansas. The two squads actually met in the first round of the NCAA Tournament, with Kansas defeating Mizzou, 1-0.

    The Trojans then return home for the weekend of Friday, Sept. 8, where they will host 2016 Elite Eight competitor Santa Clara, a match where the Trojans will try to avenge last year's overtime road loss to the Broncos. They then host Iowa State at 12 p.m. PT on Sunday, Sept. 10. The last time the Trojans met the Cyclones was in 2014, where they Trojans defeated Iowa State in a tournament at Notre Dame.


     

     

    The Trojans then face two southern California opponents on the road, first at Loyola Marymount on Friday, Sept. 15 at 7 p.m. PT and then the team heads further south to San Diego, to face the Toreros on Sunday, Sept. 17 at 1 p.m. PT.

    The Trojans then head to Utah for a 2 p.m. MT tilt on Saturday, Sept. 23. The last matchup between these two squads was in the Sweet 16 of the 2016 NCAA Tournament where the Trojans bested the Utes.

    On Sept. 28 and Oct. 1 the Trojans are back at McAlister Field, welcoming Oregon State and Oregon, respectively.

    The Trojans then head back on the road, visiting the Arizona schools. First on Oct. 5 the Trojans face the Arizona Wildcats at 7 p.m. PT and then on Oct. 8 at Arizona State for a 1 p.m. PT match.

    On Friday, Oct. 13 the Trojans host Colorado at 4 p.m. PT at McAlister Field.

    The Trojans then head to the Washington schools, first visiting Washington on Oct. 19 and then at Washington State on Oct. 21 at 12 p.m. PT.

    The final home weekend of action is Oct. 26, when the Trojans welcome the Bay Area schools. On Oct. 26 at 2:30 p.m. PT the Trojans host California, and then on Oct. 29 at 3 p.m. PT the Trojans host Stanford for Senior Day.

    The Trojans then finish out the regular season with the classic rivalry game, as they head to UCLA for a 7 p.m. PT match on Friday, Nov. 3.
