Women of Troy Welcome UNC Transfer Reilly Parker for 2014

    LOS ANGELES - Head coach Keidane McAlpine announces the addition of North Carolina Tar Heel transfer Reilly Parker to the Women of Troy for the 2014 season.

    Parker will enter Troy as a junior and is eligible to play this upcoming season. A forward/winger, Parker was a member of UNC's 2012 National Championship team. As a true freshman in 2012, Parker played in 13 games for the Tar Heels, making three starts. She tallied two assists and connected on eight shots during her total 443 minutes on the pitch as a true freshman. She also saw three minutes of reserve action in the national championship game, where the Tar Heels defeated Penn State 4-1.

    Parker, a native of San Ramon, Calif., brings a wealth of experience from the U.S. National Team circuit, as a member of the U20 National Team pool most recently, after stints in the U18 National Team pool (2011-12), the U17 pool (2010), the U15 pool (2009) and the U14 pool (2008). She earned four caps as a member of the U17 U.S. Women's National team as they competed and won the Nordic Cup title in Copenhagen, Denmark in 2010.

    She also participated in the Olympic Development Program in California, as a member of the G94 Region IV ODP pool from 2007-11 and the G94 Cal North ODP Pool from 2007-09.

    At the club level, Parker competed for the Mustang Blast from U9-17. The team's captain from 2007-10, Parker led the Blast to the 2009 U14 USYSA National Championship and to the 2009 and 2011 USYSA Region IV championships and a spot as a finalist in 2010. From 2008-11, the Blast won the USYSA State title each season. She also led the team to the 2010 GU16 Premier Surf Cup title and the Mustang Stampede Premier title three times.

    Parker, a 2012 graduate San Ramon Valley HS in Danville, Calif., played varsity all four years for head coach Mark Jones. She led the team to the 2009 CIF North Coast Section 3A championship and to finalist slots in 2010, 2011 and 2012. Parker earned EBAL All-League second team honors in 2011 and 2012, and an honorable mention selection in 2009. She was also a 2011 Gatorade State Player of the Year nominee.



    Parker and the Women of Troy, under the direction of first-year head coach McAlpine will open up play on Friday, August 22 vs. Long Beach State at the USD Tournament in San Diego, Calif.
