HONOLULU - The No. 2-ranked USC women's sand volleyball team (7-1) posted a 5-0 victory over No. 8 Nebraska (0-1) to win its sixth straight dual match on Thursday, March 20, at the Queen's Beach Sandbox. The Women of Troy won all five matches in straight sets and improved to 3-0 on its road trip to the islands.

After providing the clinching point in each of the last two duals, USC's tandem of sophomore Alexa Strange and Kelly Claes got off the sand first with an impressive 21-5, 21-10 win over Amber and Kadie Rolfzen at court two. The USC duo improved to 8-2 together in Strange's first meeting with her former team, where she used to hold court at the top position.

Moments later, the Trojans went up, 2-0, in the dual as freshmen Nicolette Martin and Allie Wheeler teamed up for a 21-9, 21-14 win against Kelsey Fien and Mary Pollmiller at court five. Seniors Sam Hirschmann and Natasa Siljkovic sealed the win for the Trojans from court three where they completed a 21-14, 21-13 victory over Brenna Lyles and Alicia Ostrander for the clinching point.

With the dual decided, USC added a fourth point from court four where juniors Eve Ettinger and Bria Russ took out Alexa Ethridge and Cecilia Hall, 21-12, 21-11. At the top court, senior Kirby Burnham and freshman Sara Hughes handed the Trojans their fifth point on a 21-17, 21-15 win over Mel Kiel and Justine Wong-Orantes.

The Trojans are back in action on Friday and Saturday (March 21-22) as Queen's Beach hosts the Jack in the Box Rainbow Wahine Spring Challenge. Pairs will play out of pools on Friday before the top 16 teams are selected and seeded to play in Saturday's 16-team single-elimination bracket. A second silver bracket will also be played among the next eight best teams. For more information and results, please visit For a complete USC schedule and results, please visit
