It was Senior Day at the USC McDonald Swim Stadium, and despite races won by USC seniors Emily Goetsch and Whitney Hentzen, No. 21 USC fell to No. 3 Stanford, 180-120, on Saturday (Feb 2.).

USC dropped to 4-5 overall, and 1-5 in the Pac-10. Stanford improved to 5-1, 4-0.

Whitney Hentzen won the 500y free in 4:52.08. Hentzen also placed second in the 1650y free (16:41.15).

Emily Goetsch won the 100y fly in 55.80 and took second in the 200y fly in 2:02.10. Stanford sophomore Emily Breeden took first in the 200y fly in 1:58.72, an NCAA automatic qualifying time.

USC junior Rebecca Soni won both the 100y breast in 1:01.70 and the 200y breast in 2:10.33. Stanford freshman Elizabeth Smith came in second in the 200y breast with a time of 2:11.50, an `A' cut.

USC junior Rachel Waller placed first in the 200y free with a time of 1:49.11 and second in the 100y free in 50.89.

USC junior Kristen Lahey took first in the 100y back in 56.51.
