Ishimatsu Wins Again At Zones, Claims 3-Meter

    Junior Haley Ishimatsu followed her win on 1-meter Thursday with another victory on 3-meter on the second day of the NCAA Zone E Diving Championships at the Air Force Academy in Colorado Springs, Colo., on Friday (March 14).

    Ishimatsu, the NCAA's defending champion on platform who won that event as well as 3-meter at the recently completed Pac-12s, won the Zone E 3-meter with 661.55 points, 6.65 better than ASU's second place Hailey Casper (654.90). Ishimatsu entered the final dive with a solid lead, big enough to withstand Casper's 72.00 on the final dive.

    Trojan sophomore Sam Adams, herself a 3-time Pac-12 finalist this year, made the finals of 3-meter and finished 18th with 536.80. Sophomore Natalie Kalibat did not advance out of prelims, finishing 22nd (270.55).

    Ishimatsu, Adams and Kalibat will compete on platform Saturday beginning at 11 a.m. MT.

    The men's 1-meter is currently ongoing with USC junior Jordan Gear. Sophomore Collin Pollard was forced to withdraw due to an injury. Results for 1-meter are here.
