Freshman Steven Starks made his third finals appearance in three tries, finishing second on platform (346.10), to lead the Trojan divers at the 2008 Men's and Women's Pac-10 Diving Championships in Seattle on Saturday (March 1).

Starks, who was seventh on 3-meter and eighth on 1-meter, came close to becoming USC's first platform winner since Michael Hilde in 2006. Fellow freshman Derek Roth made it into his first final and took sixth (310.60).

On the women's side, freshman diver Christine Petrilli posted her second third-place of the championships, scoring 259.50 points on platform. Senior Kim Popp made her third career conference final appearance on platform, finishing eighth (248.15).
