Five Trojans Earn Pac-12 Swim, Dive All-Academic First Team Honors

    2015 Pac-12 All-Academic Teams Get Acrobat Reader

    Seniors Haley Ishimatsu, Jordan Gear and Cary Wright as well as sophomores Michael Domagala and Blair Carnes earned Pac-12 All-Academic first team honors while eight Trojans earned second team honors and another 15 were tabbed honorable mention selections, the Pac-12 announced Friday (April 10).

    It is the second straight first team selections for Ishimatsu, Gear and Wright. Wright also earned second-team notice as a sophomore. It is the first such honor for Domagala and Carnes. Freshman and first-year transfers are not eligible for the Pac-12's academic honors.

    Trojans who earned second team honors included senior Andrea Kropp, junior Sam Adams and sophomore Maggie D'Innocenzo on the women's side and seniors Cristian Quintero and Chad Bobrosky, juniors Kevin Khojasteh and Morten Klarskov and sophomore Steven Stumph for the men's team. Kropp and Adams were both second teamers last year. Quintero and Bobrosky were both two-time honorable mention picks the last two years and Klarskov was honorable mention in 2014.

    Eleven women's team members were tabbed honorable mention picks, including seniors Rebecca Heyliger and Kate Davey, juniors Joanna Stenkvist, Jasmine Tosky, Katherine Van Winkle, Kendyl Stewart, Jacqui Suitt and sophomores Brianna Weinstein, Jamie Christy, Sidney Cooke and Kelsey Kafka. It is Heyliger's third such honor and the second for Davey, Stewart, Suitt, Van Winkle and Weinstein.

    The four men's teamers to earn honorable mention notice were senior Luca Spinazzola for the second year in a row, juniors Collin Pollard and Ted Singley and sophomore Reed Malone.
