Six Trojans Earn Pac-12 All-Academic First Team Honors

    2014 Pac-12 Women's All-Academic Team Get Acrobat Reader

    USC seniors Michael Godbe, Andrea Basaraba and Lynette Lim and juniors Cary Wright, Jordan Gear and Haley Ishimatsu were named Pac-12 men's and women's All-Academic first team selections the conference announced Wednesday (April 16) and are among a combined 29 Trojans selected to the first, second and honorable mention teams.

    Godbe earned first team honors with a 3.81 GPA in political science and social sciences economics while Gear has a 3.90 in cinematic arts and French and Wright has a 3.59 in health promotion. Basaraba has a 3.88 in philosophy, politics and law, Lim has a 3.75 in human biology and Ishimatsu, a 2014 NCAA champion on platform, has a 3.61 in sociology.

    This is Godbe's third consecutive first team selection and the second each for Lim and Basaraba.

    Trojans who earned second team honors included junior Andrea Kropp with a 3.51 in communications, sophomore Sam Adams with a 3.62 in communications and senior Nick Johnson with a 3.30 GPA in business administration.

    Ten Trojan women earned honorable mention notice, including seniors Lolo Blair, Kasey Carlson, Meghan Hawthorne and Stina Gardell, juniors Kate Davey and Rebecca Heyliger and sophomores Kendyl Stewart, Jacqui Suitt, Katherine Van Winkle and Brianna Weinstein.

    Another 10 USC men earned honorable mention honors, including seniors Chase Bloch, Dimitri Colupaev, Cristian Quintero and Jack Wagner, juniors Chad Bobrosky, Andrew Malone and Luca Spinazzola and sophomores Kevin Khojasteh, Morten Klarskov and Adam Payne.
