Stewart Wins Second U.S. Title In As Many Days

    Junior Kendyl Stewart, a day after winning the 50-meter butterfly, doubled her victory total in double the distance, capturing the 100m fly crown on the third night of the 2014 U.S. Nationals in Irvine, Calif., on Friday (Aug.8).

    Stewart won the 100m fly with a 57.98, coming from behind to beat Olympic favorite Claire Donahue, who touched in 58.03. With the win, Stewart clinches a spot on the 2014 U.S. Pan Pacific team.

    Sophomore teammate Santo Condorelli reached the final of the men's 100m fly and took eighth in a stacked field in 52.88.

    In the men's 50m back 'B' final, recent graduate Chase Bloch was second (25.77) while senior Luca Spinazzola was fourth (25.86).

    Fellow recent graduate Kasey Carlson reached the final of the women's 50m breast and was fifth in 31.02.
