Rianna Valdes Wins Pac-12 Player of the Week

    On Monday (March 6), Rianna Valdes was selected as the Pac-12 Player of the Week. This is the first time in her career she has earned this honor.

    On Friday (March 3), Valdes clinched the match for the Women of Troy in a massive 5-2 upset over No. 4 Michigan. After winning the first set 6-3, she dropped the second set 6-4 to #125 Chiara Lommer. Valdes surged ahead and won the third set 6-4 to clinch the match for USC.

    Valdes is also nationally ranked in doubles at the No. 45 slot with her partner Jessica Failla.

    Valdes and the Women of Troy are preparing for a big weekend of competition as No. 7 California and No. 16 Stanford travel down to Los Angeles on March 10 and 11 respectively to face the Trojans.
