Four Women’s Tennis Players Earn Pac-12 All-Academic Honors|

LOS ANGELES--Four USC women’s tennis players have earned Pac-12 All-Academic honors. Juniors Gabby Smith and Madison Westby and sophomore Rianna Valdes were each selected to the All-Academic Second Team, while sophomore Jessica Failla earned All-Academic Honorable Mention.
Smith is making her second appearance on the Pac-12 All-Academic Second Team as she was selected in 2016 as well. The junior holding a 3.52 GPA in accounting finished the season ranked No. 29 in the nation after competing in the NCAA Individual Championships in the singles draw.
Westby also earns her second career All-Academic honor after being named Honorable Mention in 2016. She boasts a 3.53 GPA in communication.
Valdes and Failla were both newly eligible for Pac-12 All-Academic honors as sophomores for the Women of Troy. A Second Team All-Academic selection, Valdes holds a 3.58 GPA as a health promotion and disease prevention major. Failla, an international relations major has earned All-Academic Honorable Mention from the conference. Failla finished the season No. 31 in the country after competing in the NCAA Individual Championships in the singles draw with teammate Smith.
