USC Women's Volleyball Set For Summer European Tour

    LOS ANGELES -- This summer, the USC women's volleyball program will embark on a 13-day tour, May 18-31, through the European countries of Iceland, Germany, Austria, Slovenia, and the Czech Republic. The Women of Troy will compete against local national teams and club-level opponents while enjoying an enriching historic sightseeing tour of Europe. The team's itinerary follows.

    2017 USC WOMEN OF TROY EUROPEAN TOUR

    MAY 18-20 | LOS ANGELES to REYKJAVIK, ICELAND (2 nights)
    The team departs out of Los Angeles International Airport (LAX) and will be en route on May 19. Once there, the Trojans will face teams from Iceland and Denmark.

    MAY 21-22 | REYKJAVIK, ICELAND to MUNICH, GERMANY/SALZBURG, AUSTRIA (1 night)
    Following a flight from Iceland to Germany, the team will bus to Austria and spend one night there.

    MAY 22-26 | SALZBURG, AUSTRIA to MARIBOR, SLOVENIA (4 nights)
    A short bus ride from Austria to Slovenia has the Women of Troy in Maribor for the next four days. While in Slovenia, the Trojans will face competition in a tournament that includes national teams from Slovenia, Croatia, Austria, Azerbaijan, and Hungary.

    MAY 26-27 | MARIBOR, SLOVENIA to VIENNA, AUSTRIA (1 night)
    The team buses back to Austria, but this time will visit Vienna for one night.

    MAY 27-29 | VIENNA, AUSTRIA to PRAGUE, CZECH REPUBLIC (2 nights)
    The Trojans will travel by land to Prague where the team will spend the next two nights. In Prague, USC will play a club team from the Czech Republic in its final European contest.

    MAY 29-30 | PRAGUE, CZECH REPUBLIC to MUNICH, GERMANY (1 night)
    By bus, the team returns to Germany for one night before concluding its trip through Europe.

    MAY 30-31 | MUNICH, GERMANY to LOS ANGELES
    The team returns to Los Angeles.

    This is the third international trip the Women of Troy will take under the direction of head coach Mick Haley. In 2012, the Trojans toured Italy, Slovenia, and Serbia; in 2007, USC took a summer trip through England, Poland, Hungary, Italy, and Switzerland.

    The Women of Troy earned a program-record 26th consecutive berth into the NCAA tournament (34th overall appearance) and finished 2016 with an 18-14 overall record. USC was 10-10 in Pac-12 matches and finished in a tie for seventh place. The Trojans won three of their four pre-conference tournaments and became the 17th NCAA Division I program to cross the 1,000 all-time victories threshold with a win over Arizona State on Oct. 5. Haley earned his 400th win as the Trojans' head coach.
