LOS ANGELES -- The six-time national champion and defending Pac-12 co-champion USC women's volleyball program announced its 2016 competition schedule on Tuesday, June 21. The Trojans will appear on Pac-12 Networks 17 times this fall with an additional pair of matches set for broadcast on ESPNU.

The Women of Troy will play 18 matches at the Galen Center and host an additional nine regular-season matches during pre-conference tournaments. Fans can purchase tickets at

"We are excited to announce our fall schedule," said head coach Mick Haley. "We will host three non-conference home tournaments, which gives our fans many chances to see us play this season. We feel that the schedule offers our squad great opportunities for growth as a team with many early challenges. The Pac-12 is always tough but we look forward to facing some of the best teams in the country on our conference schedule again. We're also thrilled to have 19 of our matches chosen for television broadcast including twice on ESPNU. The sport of volleyball continues to grow so fast and the television exposure for our team and the conference is great."

USC will face teams that made 2015 NCAA tournament appearances 16 times in the new season. Of those 11 teams, three were regional semifinalists (Creighton, UCLA, Washington). Last season, the Trojans went 18-1 in matches at the Galen Center including a pair of wins in the NCAA first and second rounds. USC is 130-21 all-time with an .861 winning percentage since the arena opened in 2006.

This fall, the Galen Center will serve as host to three pre-conference tournaments. The Trojans open against Marquette, Santa Clara, and UC Irvine in the USC Baden Invitational (Aug. 26-27). Kentucky, Northern Iowa, and Creighton will visit, Sept. 2-3, for the USC Radisson Classic, and then Maryland and Oklahoma arrive to face the Trojans and Washington in the Pac-12 Challenge (Sept. 15-16). The Women of Troy play Sam Houston State, Oakland, and Rice in the Rice Adidas Invitational I at Tudor Fieldhouse in Houston, Texas, Sept. 9-10, in their only road non-conference matches.

USC will take on crosstown rival UCLA (Sept. 21) and Washington (Sept. 23) in home matches to open the Pac-12 schedule and concludes with Oregon State (Nov. 18) and Oregon (Nov. 19) for Senior Day. In between, the Trojans face one of the toughest women's volleyball conferences in the country and, in addition to the Huskies, Bruins, and Ducks, must tackle Arizona State, Arizona, and Stanford, which each made NCAA tournament appearances in 2015. The only league foe that won't visit Galen Center this season is Washington State. The Trojans will host UW but not travel to Seattle, and will visit Pullman, but miss the Cougars at home as part of a rotating 20-match conference schedule as mandated by the Pac-12. USC's matches against Stanford (at home Oct. 23; at Stanford Nov. 10) will each be carried live on ESPNU.

Last season, the Women of Troy claimed a share of the Pac-12 title with an 18-2 mark in league matches and received the No. 1 overall seed in the 2015 NCAA Division I Women's Volleyball Championship. Haley was named the Volleyball Magazine National Coach of the Year for the first time in his career and added the award to his Pac-12 and AVCA Pacific South Region Coach of the Year selections. He led the Trojans to a 33-3 overall record with a fifth appearance in the NCAA Regional Championship match in six years.
