USC sophomore goalie Tumua Anae has claimed her first career award from the Mountain Pacific Sports Federation, named the MPSF Mikasa Co-Player of the Week this week after another strong weekend in the cage for the Women of Troy. Anae put up big defensive numbers again in the cage for the Trojans, tallying 21 saves in just over six periods of play last week as USC ballooned its home win streak to 42 straight victories.

In a 13-5 win over LMU, Anae came up one save short of her career high, notching 12 saves. The next day, Anae had nine saves and allowed only three goals in a 12-4 MPSF win over Cal State Northridge, helping keep USC undefeated in MPSF play. Anae is the second Trojan to earn weekly honors from the MPSF this season, and this is the first such award of her USC career. USC junior Michelle Stein also was named Co-Player of the Week on Feb. 18.

Anae ranks third in the conference with 9.17 saves per game, and ranks just behind teammate Whitney Morgan to lead the MPSF with 3.83 goals-against per game. The USC defense is second in the MPSF with 5.14 goals allowed per game.
