Stephania Haralabidis Collects Another MPSF Player of the Week Award

    March 21, 2017

USC senior driver Stephania Haralabidis scored five goals – including the game-winner with 19 seconds left – to anchor a 9-8 comeback win for top-ranked and undefeated USC at No. 8 Hawai’i. Four of those goals came in the second half, as USC worked to fight out of a two-goal deficit and get the road win. The previous day, Haralabidis had scored twice for the Trojans in a 15-2 win over No. 15 Indiana. For her relentless efforts last week, Haralabidis has been named MPSF Player of the Week for the second time this season and the fifth time in her Trojan career.

With the two wins in Honolulu, USC set a new record win streak, now holding 48 straight wins. Haralabidis’ seven-goal road trip moves the senior closer to taking over as USC’s No. 2 all-time career scorer, currently ranked at No. 3 with 248 career goals — seven away from the No. 2 all-time spot.

Haralabidis and the Trojans look to expand that win streak and stay undefeated on the year through three more games this week. USC is back in home waters at the Uytengsu Aquatics Center, first hosting Princeton in the 5 p.m. televised game on Thursday (March 23). Then, on Saturday (March 25), USC hosts a doubleheader, facing San Jose State in an MPSF matchup at 1 p.m. and then a nonconference bout against Hartwick at 2:30 p.m.
