    AT USC: Theresa Kurth begins her third season on the cross country team at USC...2010: Was slowed by injuries and redshirted, only competing as an unattached runner at the CS Northridge Invitational...In that race, she placed 38th with a time of 22:53.8 which was a 6K PR for her...Competed in track and placed fifth in the steeplechase at the USC-UCLA Dual Meet with a time of 11:48...2009: Competed in five races as a freshman...First collegiate meet was the Fullerton Invitational on Sept. 5 and she was USC's sixth finisher with a time of 24:31.00...Her final two races of the season were her best as she placed 18th as USC's fourth finisher with a time of 18:32.54 at the CS Northridge Invitational on Oct. 16 and she finished 13th as the Trojans' third finisher at the Titan Invitational on Oct. 24 with a season-best time of 18:51...In track in 2010, had a 5000m time of 18:28.

    HIGH SCHOOL: Kurth is a 2009 graduate of Amos Alonzo Stagg High in Palos Hills, Ill...She ran cross country and track all four years...Her senior year she was named to the All-Conference and All-Regional cross country team, Mideast Senior All-Star cross country team and was selected as the Stagg's most improved cross country runner...She placed 57th at the IHSA State Cross Country Finals in 2008...Helped lead her team to the conference, regional and sectional championship as a junior...Was named the track distance co-captain and most outstanding distance runner for her high school in 2009...Was a state qualifier in the 3200m...Had a best 3200m time of 11:21 in the 2009 sectionals...Was also named honorable mention on the 2008-09 IHSA All-State Academic Team...Was in the top one percent of her senior class, received Senior Leadership Honors, was a 2008 AP Scholar with Distinction, and was a 2008 National Merit Commended Scholar...Placed 8th in the Oral Competition at the 2008 state Mathletic competition...Was a member of the National Honors Society and Phi Alpha Theta History Honors Society.

    PERSONAL: Kurth was born on Sept. 4, 1990 in Bitburg, Germany...Lists her most thrilling moment in sports as her high school cross country team qualifying for the state finals in 2008 when no one thought they would...In her spare time likes to read,participate in water sports and snowboarding...Says Steve Prefontaine is her biggest sports hero because he took running to a whole new level and challenged the limits of his body and mind...Says she chose USC because it has a great engineering school, is in the heart of a thriving city, the people are so friendly and there are so many opportunities to take advantage of...Is an Aerospace Engineering major at USC...Lists her favorite foods as pasta, bread, fruit and pizza...She hopes to some day try skydiving....In the future would like to visit Italy, London, Spain, Germany, New Zealand and all the national parks in the U.S...Her favorite movies are Pride and Prejudice and Troy and favorite bands are Taking Back Sunday and Lifehouse...Is a Trustee Scholar, Engineering Honors Program and VP of American Society of Civil Engineers.
