Nick Karren Collects Second Straight WAC Track Athlete Of The Week

Jan. 28, 2008

LOGAN, Utah - For the second week in a row, Utah State's Nick Karren has been named the Western Athletic Conference Indoor Track Athlete of the Week announced by the conference office Monday.

Karren, a junior from Duchesne, Utah (Duchesne HS), came away with two victories last weekend, winning the 400-meter dash with a personal best time of 48.66 at the Washington State Cougar Indoor Invitational in Pullman, Wash. Karren also was a member of the winning 4x400-meter relay that posted a league-leading time of 3:17.24. His 400-meter dash mark also currently leads the WAC this season.

After not receiving any WAC Athlete of the Week honors in his first two seasons at Utah State, Karren now has two WAC Indoor Athlete of the Week honors in his career.

Utah State's men's and women's teams will be competing in the Air Force Invitational Friday and Saturday, Feb. 1-2, at Colorado Springs, Colo.
