Aggies Leading The Nation In Both Field Goal And Free Throw Shooting

LOGAN, Utah - Following a season-high 67.3 percent shooting performance against Louisiana Tech in its last game, Utah State's men's basketball team is now shooting 51.1 percent from the field which ranks first in the nation according to the latest NCAA statistics released Friday.

Utah State is also leading the nation in free throw shooting at 78.7 percent after going a perfect 10-of-10 at the line against the Bulldogs Thursday night. The Aggies also rank eighth in the nation with 18.1 assists per game, 19th with an assist-to-turnover ratio of 1.27 and 20th in three-point shooting at 39.7 percent.

Individually, senior All-American guard Jaycee Carroll (Evanston, Wyo.) is leading the nation in three-point shooting at 50.3 percent, is fifth in free throw shooting at 91.7 percent and 13th in scoring with 22.3 points per game. Fellow senior guard Kris Clark (Wilmington, N.C.) ranks eighth in the nation with 6.55 assists per game.

Utah State (20-9, 9-4) returns to action on Monday, Mar. 3 when it hosts Fresno State in its regular season home finale at 7 p.m. in the Dee Glen Smith Spectrum.
