Devin Daniels Named WAC Golfer Of The Week

March 11, 2008

LOGAN, Utah - Utah State's Devin Daniels has been named the Western Athletic Conference men's golfer of the week it was announced by the league office on Tuesday. It is the first time in Daniels' career he has been honored by the league office.

Daniels, a junior from Hyde Park, Utah (Sky View HS), finished in a tie for 41st with a 19-over par 235 (80-79-76) at the Braveheart Classic, March 3-4. It was the fourth time in six tournaments this season that Daniels has been Utah State's top finisher.

Daniels has played 16 rounds thus far this year for Utah State and has an average score of 73.88 to lead the team. His low round of the year was a 64 at the Agua Caliente Invitational in Palm Springs, Calif., last fall. Daniels also recorded his lowest 54-hole score this year at that tournament with a 204 to finish in a tie for third.

Utah State returns to action on March 27-28 when it competes in the Cuesta Vista Intercollegiate in Arroyo Grande, Calif.
