USU Men's Tennis Hosts Idaho State Tuesday

March 31, 2008

LOGAN, Utah - After almost a month away from action, the Utah State men's tennis team hosts Idaho State on Tuesday, April 1 at Noon at the Sports Academy and Racquet Club in Logan. The Aggies are 4-11 on the season, while the Bengals are 1-10 overall.

USU defeated ISU, 4-3, earlier this season on Feb. 27, 2008. The Aggies picked up all three doubles matches in the win, while sophomore Oscar Ericsson, senior Jonas Tyden and junior Matt Braithwaite tallied singles wins at No. 2, 4 and 6, respectively.

Utah State is led by Ericsson, who is 15-9 on the year and 10-5 in spring action at No. 2. Ericsson pairs up with senior Fernando Gallegos in doubles action and the duo are 8-7 at No. 2 this spring.

Freshman Danel Barrenechea leads Idaho State with a 5-6 record at No. 3 singles, while he is 3-5 at No. 1 doubles with partner Marc Pijoan.

The Aggies continue action on April 9 in Ogden, Utah facing in-state rival Weber State at 2 p.m.
