USU Softball Travels To Utah Valley Tuesday, Hosts Utah Wednesday

LOGAN, Utah - Utah State softball meets up with a pair of in-state rivals this week, traveling to Orem, Utah to play at Utah Valley on Tuesday, March 25 and then hosts Utah on Wednesday, March 26 in its home opener. Doubleheaders are scheduled for both days, with action starting at 2 p.m. (MT). Games will be played at the Wolverine Softball Field on Tuesday and at LaRee and LeGrand Johnson Field on Wednesday. Admission for all home games is free.

The Aggies are 3-17 on the season after going 0-3 last weekend in their Western Athletic Conference opener at Nevada. USU is led by freshman SS Kelley Kaneshiro's .311 batting average, while junior P Lindsey Benson leads the team with a 5.96 ERA.

Utah Valley is 5-17 on the year after splitting games with South Dakota State on March 19. The Wolverines are led by sophomore OF Alli Bramwell's .378 average at the plate while junior P Heidi Stocks has a 3.99 ERA with a 1-7 record.

The Utes are 16-15 on the season, after going 2-3 at the Judi Garman Classic in Fullerton, Calif. Offensively, Utah is led by senior OF Diana Phillip's .378 average and defensively by freshman P Brittany Parker's 6-8 record with a 2.89 ERA.

USU is 5-5 all-time against Utah Valley, while Utah leads the all-time series against the Aggies with an 82-53-1 record.

The Aggies continue action with its conference home opener against No. 14 Fresno State on Friday and Saturday, March 28-29. First pitch is scheduled for 3 p.m. (MT) on Friday, while the doubleheader on Saturday will start at 1 p.m. (MT).
