Aggie Softball Wraps Up Non-Conference Action Hosting Northern Colorado

LOGAN, Utah - Utah State softball closes out action at home with a four-game series against Northern Colorado on Saturday and Sunday, April 26-27. The doubleheader on Saturday starts at 1 p.m., while action starts at 10 a.m. on Sunday. All home games are played at LaRee and LeGrand Johnson Field and admission is free.

Utah State is 12-27 on the season and seventh-place in the Western Athletic Conference with a 2-12 record, after defeating Idaho State, 5-3, on Thursday. USU is led by junior DP Kayla Dunn's .365 batting average, while freshman SS Kelley Kaneshiro is second on the team, hitting .344. Junior P Lindsey Benson leads the team with a 4.42 ERA and has recorded 121 strikeouts in 168.0 innings of work.

Northern Colorado is 11-32 on the year, winning four of its last five games, three of which were against Utah Valley. The Bears are led offensively by sophomore RF Jessie Schoepflin's .360 batting average, while the team is led defensively by junior P Hillarie Van Otterloo's 4.02 ERA with a 5-11 record.

Utah State is 20-12 all-time versus Northern Colorado, having won five of the last six meetings. The Aggies went 3-1 last year against the Bears, winning, 6-5, and, 5-4, on March 1, followed by a 12-4 win on March 3, before UNC won the final game, 9-5, on March 4.

The Aggies will conclude their regular season with a three-game WAC series at Hawai'i on Saturday and Sunday, May 3-4. Action begins at 6 p.m. (MT) on both days with a doubleheader scheduled for Saturday.
