Complete National Rankings

NEW ORLEANS – For the second consecutive week the Adams State Grizzlies sit atop the USTFCCCA Division II Coaches Indoor Track and Field Power Rankings, released this morning by the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association.

The Grizzlies moved up five spots last week to the number one ranking after winning the Air Force Invitational on February 2nd.  This past weekend Adams State traveled back to Air Force for the Don Barrett Open.

Ashland University, which did not compete this past weekend, holds steadfast at No. 2 for a second week.  Ashland was the top ranked team in Division II in the rankings released January 30th.  This weekend the Eagles will travel to Findlay for the All-Ohio Championships.

Southern Illinois-Edwardsville moved up three spots to No. 3 this week and will compete in the Iowa State Classic this coming weekend.  SIUE has remained in the top ten all season long.  Central Missouri follows SIUE at No. 4 this week.  The Mules improved eight spots this week after they hosted the Mule Relays over the weekend.

Shippensburg dropped two spots this week from No. 3 and completes the top five.

Three newcomers make up the bottom half of the top ten this week as No. 6 Abilene Christian, No. 8 Chadron State and No. 10 Western State all make their debuts in the rankings.  Kutztown (No. 7) and Grand Valley State (No. 9) round out the top ten in the men’s Division II Coaches Indoor Track and Field Power Rankings.

A team's total point score is the sum of all points earned by that team in each event. Teams are allowed to select up to two athletes per event, and an athlete can only be used in a maximum of three events (not including relays). Only one relay team per event can be selected. Schools are responsible for submitting their own results.

The 2008 NCAA Division II Indoor National Championships will be held March 14-15 at Myers Field House on the campus of Minnesota State University in Mankato, Minn.

Ashland University is the top-ranked women’s team.
