Graduate Assistantship for Track and Field and Cross Country

Qualifications: Bachelor's Degree. Intercollegiate Cross Country and Track and Field experience required. Candidate should be considering a career in coaching.
Ability to teach physical education courses in aquatics, racquet sports or fitness preferred.

Graduate Studies: Graduate programs are available which lead to the Master of Arts degree in five different fields: American Studies, Economics, English, History, and Public Policy.

Length of Appointment: Beginning on September 1, 2008 the Graduate Fellow will be on a two-year program and carry 5 courses per academic year. The Fellow will have an option to attend 2 summer sessions with a proportionate additional stipend.

Duties: While pursuing graduate studies, the Fellow will be assigned duties as an Assistant Coach of Men's and Women's Track and Cross Country. In In addition to coaching, other duties will include recruiting, teaching responsibilities and other assignments as determined by the Chair of the Department.

Stipend: The fellowship for the next academic year, September to May, 2008-2009, will provide tuition, room, a cash stipend of $7,700 and student health insurance coverage.
