University of Utah
Softball Diary: On The Road With Kelly and Meghan

March 25, 2008

Each week on UtahUtes.com, Kelly Matthews and Meghan Crouse will share their thoughts from the road, sharing behind the scenes details and their thoughts from the games.

Meg and Kel here...

Ok, so spring break started for us on Thursday (before spring break), Which was awesome because we got to go to sunny San Diego! Rock on! The weather was ok...it didn't get super nice until the day we left. It was weird because the game got rained out. So instead of playing we laid out by the pool.

We came into the weekend kind of on our heels, especially since our first game was against Texas A&M. They are pretty good. But we played super well. I think this game proved to us how good we really are!

We didn't have much free time during the week because our games were at night, but it was fun going to the beach with the girls and watching Dre (Andrea Hoffman) get soaked by the waves. Number 1 - it was freezing because the sun went down. Number 2 - who the heck wears tennis shoes and turns their back towards the waves! HAHAHA Dre!

The rest of spring break we spent in Fullerton at the Judi Garman Tournament, which was incredible. We got to watch the USA softball team play against other colleges. It was a major highlight of the trip. Meg and I are a couple shades darker then when we showed up!! Anything darker than pasty white is nice.

After we got back we had Easter dinner with a bunch of the girls. The food was amazing! We topped it off with desert and an Easter egg dying session. It was so much fun!

This trip was fun. What better place to be in during spring break than California.

We are home for the next couple of weeks and conference is starting soon. It will be nice to come out, compete hard and prove some people wrong. We're excited!!

Andrea Hoffman got a little too close to the waves in San Diego.
