Ferris and Kwok Chosen for NCAA Doubles Draw

May 5, 2008

SALT LAKE CITY - The 25th-ranked doubles team of Elizabeth Ferris and Emily Kwok from the University of Utah women's tennis team is set to compete in the NCAA Doubles Championships, May 21-26 in Tulsa, Okla.

"It is an honor for Liz and Emily to make the NCAAs in doubles. They have a chance to beat any opponent at the tournament. I feel they are playing great tennis and they should go into the tournament with a lot of confidence," said head coach Mat Iandolo. "While a little disappointed about Liz not making it into singles, we are hopeful she will get in as an alternate."

Ferris and Kwok have tallied a 19-4 doubles record this season and were last seen in the Mountain West Conference semifinals against TCU on April 25. The Ute duo executed an 8-5 win over 18th-ranked Anna Sydorska and Macall Harkins from the Horned Frogs.
