Utah Valley Heads to First Road WWC Dual

Jan. 24, 2008

OREM, Utah - In its second Western Wrestling Conference dual of the season Utah Valley will travel to the Air Force Academy to take on the Falcons in Colorado Springs, Colo.

"We are going to have our work cut out for us this weekend," UV head coach Greg Williams said. "We have a few guys that are out with injuries. We will go and do the best we can with the healthy wrestlers we have."

The Wolverines will enter this weekend with a dual record of 5-5 (1-0, Western Wrestling Conference). Air Force currently is 2-6 in duals and will be wrestling in its first conference dual.

"Air Force has improved in the past two years and have a lot of returners," Williams said. "We think our healthy wrestlers will compete well."

Ben Kjar, Utah Valley's 125-pound wrestler enters this weekend's duals with a 30-8 record this season. Kjar needs just one win to set the school record for individual wins in a season. Kjar also ranks third nationally with his 30 wins.

After UV's dual at Air Force, the Wolverines will head to Gunnison, Colo. to participate in the Tracy Borah Duals. UV will face off against Mesa State, Western State, New Mexico Highlands and Grand Canyon University Saturday at the Borah Duals.
