LOGAN, Utah - Utah Valley started strong in the first of two games but Utah State came back and took a pair from the Wolverines 9-4 and 10-1.

UV jumped to a 4-0 lead in the first inning and a half of game one, but the Aggies scored nine unanswered runs en route to a 9-4 victory. USU led game two from start to finish.

In the first game, the Wolverines jumped out to an early lead when Meghan Woodworth and Alli Bramwell led the game off with back to back singles. After Cherylyn McGraw walked, Heidi Stocks drove in a pair of runs with a single. Kylee Steadman added a RBI single to put the Wolverines ahead 3-0 in the top of the first.

The Wolverines added a run in the top of the second on a Bramwell single and a McGraw RBI double to end the Wolverines scoring.

USU chipped away at the lead on a walk and a two-run home run from Kayla Dunn. The Aggies exploded for six runs as they sent 12 batters to the plate in the bottom of the third. Utah State added an unearned run in the fourth to close out the scoring in the game.

In game two, the Aggies got a quick start, scoring in every inning except the second on their way to a 10-1, run-rule victory in five innings.

The Wolverines picked up their run in the second from when Steadman led the frame off with a single, moved to second on a sacrifice, to third on a fly out and scored on a RBI double from Lauren Augino.

Steadman finished the two games going a combined 3-for-5 with a RBI and a run scored. Stocks had two RBI while McGraw added a pair of hits and one RBI.

Utah Valley will continue in-state play as the Wolverines will travel to Salt Lake City to take on Utah on Monday at 4 p.m.
