Home-Opener Game Times Changed

Feb. 29, 2008

OREM, Utah - Utah Valley will begin its home season with a double header against the College of Idaho Saturday beginning at 11 a.m. (MT)

The games, originally scheduled for a noon start time, have been pushed up an hour in an effort to get them played before a forecasted storm hits the Orem aread.

The Wolverines, who posted a 10-6 home record last season, will be looking to get off to a good home start this year when they welcome the College of Idaho (formerly Albertson College) from Caldwell, Idaho. The Lady Yotes are ranked No. 14 in the National Association of Intercolligate Athletics (NAIA) and have a 5-2 record.

Utah Valley (2-8) is coming off a tough tournament last week when the Wolverines lost each of their games at the Troy Cox Invitational in Las Cruces, N.M. UV played five teams with RPIs of under 100.

The Wolverines have four batters with averages over .300 including team leader Meghan Woodworth who hits at a .417 clip. Woodworth has picked up base hits in seven of the eight games she has played in.

After this week's twinbill with CI, the Wolverines will head to Southern California to play in the UC Riverside Invitational March 7-9.
