South Dakota State Visits UV For Two
March 18, 2008
OREM, Utah - Returning home after a pair of challenging tournaments, including three games against formerly ranked UNLV last week, Utah Valley will host South Dakota State in a Wednesday double header. The home games will be UV's third and fourth of the season. The Wolverines played 18 of their first 20 games away from Orem in four separate tournaments. The games with the Jackrabbits will begin a five-game homestand and a string of 11 consecutive games played in the state of Utah. The Wolverines won't travel out of state until they play a pair of double headers at Cal State Bakersfield on April 12 and 13. UV and SDSU will be meeting for the first time since the 2006 season when the two teams split a pair of games. The Wolverines and Jackrabbits will enter the game looking to gain some momentum as each team has faced tough, early schedules. Utah Valley fell four times last week, three times to the Rebels and once to the Big 12's Nebraska. Two of the four games were tightly contested as the Wolverines led into the fifth inning against Nebraska. UV is led in hitting by Alli Bramwell who leads three players with batting averages over .300. Bramwell is hitting .364 on the year. Magan Niemann (.341) and Heidi Stocks (.302) are also hitting over .300. |
