Durell Vinson jumps tap in Wagner's school-record third consecutive overtime game.

Staten Island, NY - Following its school-record third straight overtime victory on Thursday night, a pulsating 100-92 double-overtime affair over Scared Heart, Wagner faces a quick turnaround in hosting a well-rested and dangerous Monmouth team on Saturday at 7:00 pm.

In Wagner's three straight overtime games, Porter has been sensational, averaging 23.7 points, 5.8 assists and 5.0 rebounds, while shooting .452 from the field and .824 from the free throw line.

With the win over Sacred Heart, Wagner improved to 18-6, 11-2 in the NEC, tied with Robert Morris (which defeated Central Connecticut State 80-74) for first place in the conference. With the defeat, Sacred Heart fell to 14-11 on the season, 11-3 in the NEC.

In Monmouth, Wagner will be looking to complete a sweep of the season series as the Seahawks ran past the Hawks 77-62 back on Jan. 10 in West Long Branch, NJ. Wagner already owns season sweeps over Scared Heart and Mount St. Mary's.

Under the tutelage of veteran head coach Dave Calloway, Monmouth has made NCAA Tournament appearances in 2001, 2004 and 2006. A young team this season, Monmouth enters the game with a 5-19 record, 2-10 in NEC play.

The Hawks, who have lost five straight games, have dropped their last 10 NEC home games, and have lost two straight on the road. Monmouth, sporting one of the league's best scoring defenses, yielding 67.0 points per game, is led in scoring by 6-2 junior guard and co-captain Whitney Coleman, who is leading the Hawks at 16.1 points per game in NEC contest. 6-1 sophomore guard Jhamar Youngblood leads the Hawks' overall leading scorer at 13.2 points per game.Youngblood scored a game-high 25 points in the first meeting this season between these schools.

On the heels of overtime wins over Mount St. Mary's and Quinnipiac, the "Cardiac Kids" out-did even themselves by needing two overtimes to dispatch of Sacred Heart on Thursday a team that entered the game in first place in the NEC and riding an eight-game winning streak.

A sell-out crowd of 1,787, and a a television audience tuned in on the MSG Network, witnessed Wagner's thrilling double-OT win as senior guard Mark Porter scored eight of his career-high 28 points in the second overtime session.

Junior guard Joey Mundweiler tallied six points in the second-OT as he and senior forward James Ulrich scored 18 points apiece. Ulrich played a terrific floor game, shooting 8-9 from the field while pulling down nine rebounds.

Senior center Durell Vinson had 17 points and a game-high 14 rebounds for his ninth double-double of the season and 23rd of his career. In the process, he entered the Wagner all-time top 10 in career rebounds, passing Jermaine Hall (1999-2003) and into 10th place with 786 career rebounds.

In Monday night's thrilling 82-70 OT win at Quinnipiac, Mundweiler hit a three-point jumper with 18 seconds left in regulation to tie the game at 62-62 and then scored eight of his game-high 19 points in overtime as Wagner ran past Quinnipiac 82-70 in overtime.
