Lynchburg, VA - The Wagner College wrestling team competed at the 2008 National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) East Regional today at Liberty University. The Seahawks came in sixth out of six teams that competed, earning themselves 13.5 team points. Below, listed, are the individual results. The winner, host Liberty, came in first by putting up 108.5 team points, besting second-place Gardner-Webb University who finished with 67.5 The Seahawks did boast two impressive third place finishes from two of their wrestlers, however. First, it was freshman 133-lb. Nick Boghos (Wakefield, MA/Belmont Hill) who won a narrow decision over Delaware State's Kelvin Watford - the second time he defeated him in the same day - to lock up third place with a count of 6-5. Then it was senior 197-lb. Anthony Interiano (Sound Beach, NY/Miller Place) putting a fine cap on his wrestler career at Wagner by winning two consecutive matches to shore up his third place title. He pinned Dave Mitchell of Duquesne University in 5:24 to come up victorious in his last ever collegiate match.
