Robert Morris Runs Past Wagner 75-38

Senior Chelsey Bunyer led Wagner with 14 points, on 6-12 shooting

Feb. 23, 2008

Box Score

Moon Township, PA - Sade Logan's game-high 27 points, fueled by five three pointers, led Robert Morris its 11th straight win by a 75-38 count over Wagner in Northeast Conference (NEC) action at the Sewell Center. With the loss, the Seahawks move to 6-20 and 4-11 in the NEC while the Colonials improve to 17-9 and 13-2 in the NEC.

Despite the loss, the Green & White remain tied with Monmouth for the eighth and final berth in the upcoming NEC Tournament. Wagner now plays Saint Francis (PA), which is in 10th place (3-12 NEC), on Monday, Feb. 25 at 7 pm in arguably the Seahawks' most important game of the season.

Robert Morris scored the first five points of the contest on its way to a game-opening 25-6 run before coasting into halftime with a 37-15 advantage. In the pivitol first half, Wagner committed 21 turnovers and was outrebounded 21-10. Senior Chelsey Bunyer (Shannon, IL / Eastland) led the Green & White with 10 points, on 4-7 shooting. Unfortunately the rest of the Seahawks hit on just 1-11. Robert Morris shot 43.3 percent (13-30), paced by Sade Logan's 14 points.

The Colonials scored the first 11 points of the second half to push their lead out to 48-15 before senior Ali Ridge (Barrington, IL / Fremd) and sophomore Andrea Reed (Pocomoke City, MD / Pocomoke) quelled the run with a pair of lay-ups. The Seahawks would never really challenge from that point and lost 75-38 to the defending NEC Champions.

Wagner shot just 31.1 percent (14-45) for the game and failed to hit a three ponter for the first time all season. Robert Morris shot 45.0 percent (27-60), including 47.1 percent (8-17) from beyond the arc, while outrebounding the Green & White by a 42-25 mark, including 19-9 on the offensive end.

Bunyer led Wagner in scoring for a team-best 12th time with 14 points, on 6-12 shooting, with four rebounds and two steals. Reigning NEC Rookie of the Week Ashley Olsen (Staten Island, NY / Notre Dame Academy) had a team-best five rebounds with six points while Ridge had eight points and four blocks, pushing her school-record total out to 199.
