Ben Hogan Award Watch List Release in PDF Format 
Wake Forest senior Webb Simpson has been named to the 24-player Ben Hogan Award Watch List for 2008.
The award is presented annually to the top men's NCAA Division I, II or III, NAIA or junior golfer taking into account all collegiate and amateur competitions during the last 12 months.
Simpson, the 2007 North Carolina Amateur Player of the Year, could become the second Demon Deacon to win the award. Wake's Bill Haas was named the top male college golfer of 2004.
Simpson was second team All-America (Golfweek) in 2006 and honorable mention All-America (Ping) in 2005, 2006 and 2007. This is the fourth consecutive year Simpson has been named to the Ben Hogan Award watch list.
The Hogan Award semifinalists will be announced April 16. Three finalists named on May 7 will be invited to Colonial Country Club in Fort Worth, Texas, for the Hogan Award presentation on the evening of May 18. The 1964 U.S. Open winner and former CBS golf analyst Ken Venturi will be the keynote speaker.
Simpson led the Deacs in the fall semester with a 70.5 stroke average and is the No. 4 amateur golfer in the world, according to www.golfweek.com.
The Wake Forest men's golf team returns to action March 9-10 at the General Hackler Championship in Myrtle Beach.
