This marks the 12th year and the seventh consecutive year the Old North State Club has held the ACC Championship. The Deacs have yet to win on the par-72, 7,100-yard course but Wake has recorded two second place finishes in 2003 and 2004.

Wake will send seniors Webb Simpson and Chris McCartin, junior Dustin Groves, and sophomores Brendan Gielow and Travis Wadkins to compete against a field that includes eight teams ranked in Golfweek's top 35. Five individuals competing in the championship, including Simpson, are ranked in the top 20 nationally.
The Deacs finished eighth in last year's championship at Old North State with McCartin posting a seventh place finish. The senior shot a two-under 214 one year ago. McCartin will be playing in his fourth consecutive ACC Championship.
Georgia Tech shared the 2007 title with Virginia Tech and the 2006 title with North Carolina.
