No. 11 Men's Tennis Faces No. 3 Buckeyes

Feb. 7, 2008

WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. - The No. 11 Wake Forest men's tennis team will look to dirty up No. 3 Ohio State's perfect 6-0 record when they travel to Columbus on Friday for a 6 p.m. match.

The Demon Deacons are 3-0 with a recent 4-3 win over Wisconsin at the WFU Indoor Tennis center on Sunday. Wake Forest, led at No. 1 singles by junior Cory Parr, has also topped William & Mary (5-2) and Old Dominion (6-1).

The Buckeyes added to their undefeated record with wins over No. 36 Miami (Fla.) (5-2) last Friday and No. 17 Pepperdine (5-2) and Wright State (4-0) over the weekend. Parr will likely face OSU's Justin Kronauge at No. 1, a sophomore ranked sixth in the nation out of Dayton Ohio.

Both squads have ranked doubles teams, with Mike O'Connell and Matt Allare leading the Buckeyes at No. 19 on the ITA charts and Parr and Steve Forman coming in at 21st for the Demon Deacons.

Live stats for the match will be available here.

The Demon Deacons will follow Friday's match with a visit to No. 34 Virginia Commonwealth on Sunday, February 10 at noon.
