Time Change for Saturday Tennis Match

Jan. 31, 2008

WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. - The No. 22 Wake Forest women's tennis team will host Penn State on Saturday at 2 p.m. and 16th-ranked Tennessee on Sunday at 2 p.m.

The Demon Deacons (0-1) opened dual match season last weekend at No. 15 William Mary, where the Tribe topped the squad 4-2 in Williamsburg.

Saturday's match will be the first 2008 road contest for the Lady Vols (4-0). Tennessee has recorded wins at home over Middle Tennessee, No. 17 North Carolina, Purdue, and Illinois. Freshman Jennifer Meredith picked up Southeastern Conference Rookie of the Week honors on Monday for her straight set singles wins over competitors from Purdue and Illinois at No. 4.

On Sunday the Deacons will welcome Penn State, where current WFU Head Coach Chad Skorupka was a four-year starter from 1991-1994. The Nittany Lions are 1-1 for the season, with a home-sweep over Bucknell and most recently a 6-1 loss at Denver.

Live scoring for the matches will be available here.

Wake Forest will have nearly two weeks off competition before returning to the Wake Forest Indoor Center to host Notre Dame and Indiana on February 22 and 23.
