Hong Named NGCA Scholar All-America

July 10, 2008

PULLMAN, Wash. - Washington State University women's golfer Diana Hong was named to the National Golf Coaches Association All-American Scholar Team, the organization announced recently.

Hong, a sophomore and social sciences major, was one of 402 women's collegiate golfers recognized with the prestigious honor. Also named to the all-scholar team as a freshman, Hong is WSU's seventh women's golfer to be named NGCA All-American Scholar multiple times since 1999. She was also named to the Pacific-10 Conference All-Academic Team this season.

On the course Hong posted two top 10 finishes and four top 25 finishes this past season.

The criteria for selection to the All-American Scholar Team are some of the most stringent of all college athletics. The minimum cumulative grade point average is 3.50 and student-athletes must have competed in at least 50 percent of the college's regularly scheduled competitive rounds during the year.
