After leaving a very COLD climate in Cullowhee, USA, we finally reached our destination for the weekend, also known as our second home, Clemson University, SC!

Today at practice we had a basic warm-up routine with some strides to get the lactic acid out of our bodies that built up during the ride down. The atmosphere right now is very different from those back at school or during other meets. IT'S THE SOUTHERN CONFERENCE INDOOR CHAMPIONSHIPS!!!!

Everybody knows what is expected of them so all we really have to do is go out, perform at the highest level possible, and maintain an understanding of everything that we've learned throughout the season with the numerous practices and film review sessions. There's no time to be nervous, although I know from past experience that my heart will be racing; that is until I hear the word "set" from the starter, and hear the sound of the gun.

At that point is where I realize that it's GAME TIME, and that I'm doing it not only for me, but most of all for my TEAM!!! We have a great group of guys on the men's side as well as on the ladies, and I would/will do just about anything for them!

With that being said, "team togetherness" was a key concept discussed at the team meeting following the "super market sweep" at Bi-Lo! The way the heats are lined up this year are really challenging to our team(s) in making it to finals. Most of us will be competing against our very own teammates for the top positions and times! Running smart and giving 110% effort is what it's going to take to bring home the SoCon Indoor title, and we're going to do just that!!!
