Post-Socon: "One question: was the trip worth it?"

Sorry for not giving an update for Friday, but I had to get some rest for a LONG day on Saturday! As most of you have already seen, our men's and women's track and field teams both won the Men's and Women's Southern Conference Indoor Track & Field Championships! Everyone gave it their all and we achieved a common goal of coming out on top! There were scary moments and some things didn't go our way, but we BELIEVED and found a way to make up for our mistakes as a team, a UNIT!

Much respect and gratitude goes out to the Women's Basketball team, Women's golf team, Western professors, Athletics/Academics Staff, and any others that I may have left out who were there in attendance!

Conference is over and done, but the indoor season still continues for a select few of our athletes on both sides! Next weekend we will travel to Virginia Tech for a Last Chance meet! For those of you who aren't fluent with the whole track world, a last chance meet is a meet where athletes attempt to qualify for Indoor Nationals (NCAA's), or for athletes who have already qualified trying to improve their times for better rankings and in hopes of securing a spot at the prestigious NCAA meet! Hopefully, things will continue to be positive for us throughout the week as we resume practice on Wednesday!

Once again, thanks to everyone who supports WCU Track & Field!!!!
