Jan. 25, 2008

Cullowhee, N.C. - Catamount fans, we all know that you'd "Rather Be in Carolina" ... so, "Hold Back the Night," when Catamount Drive turns into "Ocean Boulevard" and N.C. Highway 107 becomes the "Grand Strand" as Western Carolina hosts Beach Night 7 this Monday, January 28th in the Ramsey Center.

"Summertime is Calling Me," so prepare your self to "Be Young, Be Foolish, Be Happy" with great beach-themed contests for all ages. Be sure to break out the flowery shirts, flip flops, and even the shorts for a fun-filled night including the best music on Earth -- Carolina beach tunes!

Monday's basketball doubleheader features the Lady Catamounts hosting the College of Charleston at 5:00 pm, with the Catamount men entertaining the Georgia Southern Eagles approximately 30 minutes following the women's game.

Beach Night is sure to get you in the mood for summer... well, at least Spring Break, coming soon to the WCU campus. For all Western Carolina students, we encourage you to dress in your best beach wear for our annual "Best Dressed" contest to win accommodations for a much-needed spring break get-away including accomodations for six nights at the Sleep Inn in Mt. Pleasant, S.C., and the South Carolina Lowcountry. There will also be other beach-oriented promotional contests for great prizes during both games.
