Western Carolina Hosts Beach Night 7 TONIGHT

Cullowhee, N.C. - Western Carolina head men's basketball coach Larry Hunter today released a statement about the status of freshmen Michael Porrini and Camden Miller.

"Camden Miller and Michael Porrini were suspended indefinitely on Friday and they have decided not to accept those suspensions. Consequentially, they are no longer a part of our basketball program."

Western Carolina will go for back-to-back home wins in Southern Conference play tonight as it hosts the Georgia Southern Eagles in the Ramsey Center in the night cap of a "Beach Night" Catamount hoops doubleheader. The Lady Catamounts host the College of Charleston at 5:00 pm.

WCU defeated the Georgia Southern last season in Cullowhee on Canton/Clyde Day, snapping the Eagles seven-game winning streak in the series. The Catamounts are 3-3 in the six previous Beach Night promotions.

Both games will be broadcast by the Catamount Sports Network. The men's and women's game can be heard locally in Western North Carolina on WWCU-FM, Power 90do5 in Cullowhee (www.WWCUFM.com) with the men's game also being carried by 680 AM WRGC in Sylva (www.WRGC.com).
