Greenville, S.C. - After enduring a morning delay of over two hours due to heavy rain and lightning, the second round of the 39th Annual Furman Intercollegiate was resumed but eventually suspended due to darkness at the par 72, 6,800-yard Furman University Golf Course.

Nationally-ranked Chattanooga continues to lead the event, finishing its team round at 290 prior to the suspension of play. A total of 15 teams did indeed complete their second round play, with the remaining nine teams picking up where they left off on their second round first thing Sunday morning, with the third and final round slated to follow immediately.

Western is currently in sixth place, which is where it was after the opening round with a team score of five-over. However, the Catamount golfers were on holes nine through 13 when play was suspended. Freshman Caleb Marsh was leading the team at even par through 13 holes played, while sophomore Ricky Stout was even par and making the turn for the back nine.

Among WCU's other players, junior Andres Cuecna was two over through nine; senior Matt Cook was three over through nine; and junior Dustin Furnari was five-over through nine holes played.

Stormy weather delayed the start of the second round, with play resuming around 12:45 pm. However, officials made the decision to suspend play around 7:50 pm.
