LADY CATAMOUNT'S AT RETIREMENT HOME PHOTO GALLERY

WOMEN'S BASKETBALL COMMUNITY SERVICE: Western Carolina women's basketball spent an afternoon this week at a retirement home playing bingo with the residents.

Chevon Keith REBOUNDING NATIONALLY: Randy Peterson from Kansas State University conducted a study on how many guards led their team in rebounding this year and also over a two-year span. Western Carolina senior guard Chevon Keith was just one of 15 guards across the country to lead her team in rebounds. Keith's 8.6 rebounds per game was the third most of the 15 listed. Also, Keith was one of five players who led her team in rebounding for the last two years - ranking second.

FOUR NAMED TO WINTER ACADEMIC ALL-CONFERENCE TEAM: Four members of the Lady Cat women's basketball team were among the 22 Western Carolina student-athletes to be named to the Southern Conference Winter Academic All-Conference Team. Juniors Lauren Powell and Kendra Eaton along with sophomores Kristen Feemster and Heather Swayne represented women's basketball.

 

 

FINAL STATISTICAL RANKINGS: Western Carolina finished the 2007-08 season ranked in the top-50 nationally in three categories. The Lady Catamounts ranked 20th in scoring offense averaging 74.1 points per game, 34th in win-loss percentage and 41st in rebounding margin (5.1). Individually, senior guard Chevon Keith ended the season ranked 64th in rebounding, averaging 8.6 rebounds per game.
