Western Carolina Women's Tennis Falls to Appalachian State 7-0

CULLOWHEE, N.C. - Western Carolina women's tennis (3-11, 0-4 SoCon) fell 7-0 to Southern Conference foe Appalachian State (5-8, 1-5 SoCon) Saturday at the Catamount Sports Complex.

The duo of Trish Hanson and Amanda Massey collected a win at No. 1 doubles defeating Monica Tomas and Mallory Cook 8-6. It was the second pairing of Hanson and Massey this season at No. 1 doubles as they improve to 1-1 on the season.

Hanson and Massey also moved up one spot to play at No. 1 and No. 2 singles after playing most of the season at No. 2 and No. 3 singles. Both fought hard in their singles matches before falling to the Appalachian State singles players.

Western Carolina returns to action March 29 when the Catamounts host Wofford. Match time is set for 11 a.m.
