BOILING SPRINGS, N.C. - Western Carolina volleyball went 5-3 in its final indoor spring tournament at Gardner-Webb Saturday.
The Catamounts defeated Barton and Queens College twice, split with Elon and dropped a pair of close matches to host Gardner-Webb. Jelena Jakovljevic led the club with 30 kills and Kara Lynzee Brooks added 27. Amanda Kerr had 16 kills at the middle blocker position and also had three blocks and 16 block assists.
"Amanda did a great job playing the middle blocker position," said Head Coach Stephanie Dragan. "I was very proud of her effort."
Setter Katie Hennessey racked up 52 assists and eight kills.
The match at Gardner-Webb concludes the six-man indoor spring tournament portion for the Catamounts. Next up, Western Carolina will complete in a beach volleyball tournament in two weeks.
