MADISON, Wis. - Fans can now re-live all the great moments - both on and off the ice - from the 2008 WCHA FINAL FACE-OFF, thanks to the league's official web site -WCHA.CSTV.com - and WCHA.TV.
To access wcha.tv, visitors should go to http://wcha.cstv.com, and then click on the WCHA Multimedia bar located in the top right corner of the lead index page. There, visitors will find a unique and comprehensive group of video segments.
Included in the video highlight reels of this season's women's playoff championship, held March 8-9 at the Duluth Entertainment & Convention Center in Duluth, Minn., are the following segments:
The Western Collegiate Hockey Association has launched a host of exciting new features this season via the league's official web site - wcha.cstv.com. WCHA.tv, which is produced in conjunction with When We Were Young Productions of Madison, Wisc., has also featured weekly women's and men's video game highlights throughout the season, featured live video streaming of all three 2008 WCHA FINAL FACE-OFF games, and includes historical pieces on the league.
"We are tremendously excited about the launch of WCHA.TV," said WCHA Commissioner Bruce M. McLeod, "and know that this new development will continue to propel the league forward in regards to promoting our game and providing our fans everywhere with access to what is so great about WCHA Hockey."
"We are very excited to be able to allow our fans to see highlights of the best players and the best teams in our league," said Sara R. Martin, the associate commissioner of the WCHA who serves as the women's commissioner. "We feel this is a nice addition to our website for our fans."
"When We Were Young Productions" will produce the segments. WWWYP President Tim Eichorst said plans are being made to stream all games live from the 2008 WCHA FINAL FACE-OFF in Duluth, Minn. March 8-9.
"We are enjoying working with the WCHA on bringing some exciting new features to the league website,'' said Eichorst. "Fans everywhere now have the opportunity to view new highlights of WCHA men's and women's games each week. We also have some exciting ideas for future features."
Among the other new additions to wcha.cstv.com this season were the likes of comprehensive automated team and player statistics, in both overall and league games only formats, automated league and member-team schedules, automated game-by-game results, complete box scores, and the WCHA Coaches' Corner. The WCHA Coaches' Corner is a unique opportunity for students, fans and young coaches at all levels of ice hockey to gain a better understanding of hockey through the expertise of league-member coaches. The WCHA Coaches' Corner will present instructional information, philosophy, systems of play, and strategies of on-ice game situations.
The league's on-line store - The WCHA Shop, a Service of Sportdesigns.com - has also added a significant number of new items in 2007-08, featuring a full line of conference-member team merchandise, NHL merchandise, international hockey merchandise, and Frozen Four gear. Another new addition to the league's on-line store are memorable DVDs, which include a number of national tournament/championship games involving WCHA teams dating back to 1992.
